The Blaine Train has made his first stop in the Jaguars' first PM training camp. With cleats in hand, Blaine Gabbert received a standing ovation from the large crowd as he arrived on the training camp practice field, and why not? He's the future face of the franchise and it seems that the Jaguar faithful can't wait to see more of him.
It wasn't much of a glimpse, but Blaine Gabbert did complete a couple of passes that earned him the adulation of the crowd, especially on this 40-yard pass to FB Brock Bolen. In case you didn't really notice, the safety coverage was very tight on that play, which is good news for those that are concerned about the secondary. However, you have to be equally, if not more, impressed with Gabbert being able to thread the needle and hit Bolen between the two defenders (Who were Chris Prosinski and Matt Estrada). You have to admit, Gabbert has the tools to be a successful QB in this league: the height, the strength, the intellect, the work ethic. If he keeps throwing passes like that in the regular season, he could have a very bright future with the Jaguars.
