The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) will host the Atlanta Falcons (0-1) at EverBank Field Friday at 8 p.m.
Jacksonville is looking to bounce back following an embarrassing 47-12 loss to New England last week. While winning isn’t the main objective in the preseason, showing improvement is and the Jaguars certainly have a lot of room to grow.
Michael Hall wrote about his five storyline’s for tonight’s contest and you can read that HERE. The article should give you a good idea on how much the Jaguars need to fix.
While you have that in-depth story to scrutinize over, I’ll quickly point out some of the basics of the game.
Who: Jaguars host the Falcons
Where: Jacksonville (EverBank Field)
When: Tonight, 8 p.m.
Watch: Fox (National TV)
Injuries (Not Expected to Play): Running back Maurice Jones-Drew, defensive end Aaron Kampman, linebacker Clint Session, running back Rashad Jennings, right tackle Ebon Britton, tight end Zach Miller.

Five Guys to Watch: A list of some players who have an awful lot to prove tonight.
1.) David Garrard - Like Hall wrote, there’s the makings of a quarterback controversy between Garrard and rookie Blaine Gabbert. Garrard will have to
look sharp in his first preseason game of 2011. Remember that the incumbent starter took the job away from Byron Leftwich because of his play in the 2008 preseason. These reps are far from meaningless.
2.) Paul Posluszny - The free agent linebacker signing had a dud of a game against New England last week, as he repeatedly got burned in coverage. Was that a fluke or did the Jaguars just shell out some serious cash for a guy who can’t defend the pass in a throwing league?
3.) Tiquan Underwood - Do or die time for the third-year wide receiver. He has shown a tendency for dropping passes through his career and had two drops last week. He’ll have to ball out against Atlanta to keep his job.
4.) Austen Lane - The high-motor defensive end had earned rave reviews early in training camp but he didn’t perform well against the Patriots or in this week’s scrimmage against Atlanta. The team is relying on him to bring some energy into the rotation.
5. Matt Roth - We should get our first look at the recently-signed defensive end. He is expected to start opposite of Kampman and could rejuvenate the team’s poor pass-rush.

Other News and Notes:
-Tight end Marcedes Lewis is expected to play in his first preseason game tonight. The Pro Bowler might have some rust to shake off after holding out for a bigger contract earlier this preseaspn.
-Rashean Mathis versus Roddy White will be a matchup worth watching. The veteran corner is in a contract year and played well last week against the Pats. Let’s see how he does against an elite receiver.
