Rookie defensive end Marc Schiechl and first-year center Bradley Vierling were waived/injured by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday according to the Associated Press.
The move puts the team's roster at 80, which was the required number for Tuesday's deadline. The roster must be reduced to 53 by Saturday.
The "waived/injured" designation means that both players will be placed on the Jaguars' injured-reserved list if they clear waivers.
Schiechl, an unsigned rookie free agent from the Colorado School of Mines, was thought to be as a dark horse to make the 53-man roster when he was initially picked up but was not healthy throughout the preseason. Vierling was on the team's practice squad last year.
