The Jacksonville Jaguars were without several key players in their 32-3 loss to the New York Jets this past week, but should get a boost this weekend when multiple starters return from injury.
Tight end Marcedes Lewis, wide receiver Jason Hill and cornerback Derek Cox missed last week’s game due to injuries but all three are back practicing.
Right tackle Eben Britton, who played as a blocking tight end against the Jets, is also back at full strength, according to Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union.
Lewis and Hill were sorely missed against the Jets by then starting quarterback Luke McCown, who threw four interceptions against a secondary that had its way with a battered group of receivers. Both Hill and Lewis are limited in what they are doing on the practice field but coach Jack Del Rio indicated that the receivers will benefit from their return, so looks like one of, if not both of them, will be back to take on the Carolina Panthers.
Cox and Britton are not practicing at full strength. Britton had been hampered by a disk injury most of the preseason while Cox hurt his ribs in the Jaguars’ Week One victory versus Tennessee.
