The oft-injured Zach Miller has been bit by the injury bug and now he is on IR with an undisclosed injury and replaced on the roster by T.J. Heath, according to the Florida Times-Union's Tania Ganguli. Miller was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 6th round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He was a QB in college, but the Jaguars decided to select hm as a tight end. Zach Miller has been infamous for getting injured in training camp and the early part of the season. Despite this, he has flashed freakish athletic ability as a tight end.
Zach Miller has 45 catches, 470 yards, and 4 TDs in his 3 years. While it is pretty decent production for a 6th round pick, it probably won't be enough to keep the Jaguars from looking at tight ends in the draft next year. T.J. Heath signed as an undrafted rookie free agent from Jacksonville State. He is probably going to provide depth to the cornerback position, which is depleted due to Derek Cox being injured. Another way to look at it is that it proivides depth in case Rashean Mathis is ultimately traded before the 4 pm deadline today.Tags: 2009 NFL Draft, Football, Jacksonville, Jacksonville Jaguars, Jaguars, NFL, Rashean Mathis, T.J.
