Results are in for Jaguars 101’s second mid-season superlative. The winner for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ “Biggest Overachiever” is defensive end John Chick.

Chick (6-4, 250) has two sacks this season for the Jaguars and looks like he can be the pass-rush specialist the team has lacked for some time now. He has a high motor, good quickness and solid moves. What more can you ask for in that role?
A standout at Utah State, Chick went undrafted in 2006 and signed with Houston Texans before heading to Canada to play for Saskatchewan Roughriders, where he won the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2009. He was then picked up by the Indianapolis Colts. He outplayed 2010 first-round pick Jerry Hughes this preseason but was cut by the Colts because they preferred to go with their investment.
Chick was then invited to the Colts’ practice squad but instead signed with the Jaguars and made the team’s 53-man roster after Jacksonville released David Garrard
Michael Hall and Charlie Bernstein each predicted Chick to win the award, while I had another end, Jeremy Mincey, who finished second in the voting. As Charlie put it, "How can you not love a guy who basically said, 'screw you' to the Colts to sign with the Jags?"
We’ll be posting our next award in a little bit. The category is “Best Addition. ”
