The curtain may be closing on the Jacksonville Jaguars' interception leader, Rashean Mathis. The Florida Times-Union's Tania Ganguli has confirmed that Rashean Mathis will be heading to the Injured Reserve list. With Mathis' contract expiring after this season, the Jags will likely let him walk  since he has lost a step due to multiple injuries as well as age, and re-signing him would likely  require a good chunk of money. It's too bad since Mathis was having a good season so far.

Due to Mathis' injury, William Middleton will be starting at Cornerback for the rest of the year. So far, he has started 4 games this year , doing a solid job filling in for Derek Cox. I expect for that success to continue, after all, if he plays well for the rest of the year, he could solidify his role as a starter in the long term future. So far,  Middleton has 30 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception this year.
