The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed safety/wide receiver Akwasi Owusu-Ansah to the practice quad and have released rookie safety Matt Estrada, according to a report from Adam Caplan of Sirius/XM Radio.
Owusu-Ansah, a Gainesville, Fla. native, was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft because of enticing 4.3 speed and and a solid frame (6-0, 205).
Big Cat Country wrote on Sunday that Owusu-Ansah was scouted heavily by the Jaguars prior to the draft and even had a personal workout with the team.
Estrada was let go from the practice squad after having a solid pre-season, despite dealing with some injures.
