With WRs Mike Thomas and Cecil Shorts Out Against the Atlanta Falcons, the Remaining Receivers Have a Chance to Keep a Spot for Next Year

Without a doubt, wide receiveris the weakest area of the Jacksonville Jaguars  going into the offseason. The position is likely to be addressed in free agency and/or the 2012 NFL Draft. With Cecil Shorts and Mike Thomas unable to play due to injury (The short week didn't help either), the four available receivers on the Jaguars' roster have a chance to fight for a roster spot in next year's training camp. Assuming hat the Jaguars bring int two receivers in the offseason and Mike Thomas and Cecil Shorts are locks to make the roster, that only leaves one or two roster spots left for wide receivers with about 5 or 6 receivers fighting for them.

It should probably make for a very interesting camp battle next August. Dillard is the typical route runner, with good hands, Kassim Osgood has size and contributes greatly on special teams, Chastin West, Brian Robiskie, and Taylor Price are going to be players that came from other teams that will be trying to make the roster. Enjoy the performance tonight, someone just might break from the pack and make themselves valuable. Personally, my money is on Jarett Dillard.
