The Jacksonville Jaguars were the first NFL team to fire their coach this season. Now, on Black Monday, coaching candidates are being linked to the Jaguars.

So far, three names have been tied to Jacksonville: Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey, offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski of the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets OC Brian Schottenheimer

Of the trio, only Mularkey has head coaching experience in the NFL, going 14-18 with the Buffalo Bills in 2004-05.

Jason LaCanfora wrote via Twitter earlier on Monday that the Jaguars asked the Falcons for permission to speak to Mularkey. The Falcons had the 10th ranked offense in the NFL this season.

Schottenheimer, per the New York Daily News, could conduct his interview as early as this week. The Jets had the 25th ranked offense in the NFL this season.

Steve Reed of the Associated Press reported earlier today that the Jaguars also inquired about Chudzinski, who successfully navigated  quarterback Cam Newton through his rookie season.

This is just the beginning for the Jaguars' coaching search. After firing Jack Del Rio mid-season, it's clear that the Jaguars are not interested in a defensive-minded coach this time around and are looking at someone who could help revitalize a pitiable passing attack.
