For those on the Peyton Manning bandwagon, prepare for some bad news. According to Tania Ganguli and Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union, the Jacksonville Jaguars are not one of the 10-12 teams interested in picking up Manning, which I believe is a wise choice. It is a well established fact that Gene Smith's fate is directly tied to Blaine Gabbert. To just go after the biggest free agent QB is basically giving up on Gabbert after his rookie season. Some of you guys might try to justify it by stating that he would learn best from the bench, but when the Jaguars decided to let Gabbert play through that disaster of a season they basically waived their right to just sit him on the bench. After all, with 14 games under his belt, the only way he is going to significantly improve is through experience.
