Jacksonville Jaguars WR Mike Thomas seems to be in a bit of hot water according to Mark Long of the Associated Press. However, he also implied that WRs Cecil Shorts and Kevin Elliott impressed in camp. A 4th round pick in 2011, Shorts was coach's favorite going into the 2011 season after making a bunch of spectacular catches in training camp. Unfortunately, due to his poor coaching and lack of NFL-ready skills he was overwhelmed during the regular season and he disappeared. However, according to Mr. Long, he seems to have already impressed new WR Coach Jerry Sullivan with his abilities.
no doubt â??@_JohnV: @APMarkLong I also hear Coach Sullivan is loving Cecil Shorts so far.â??

Kevin Elliott is an undrafted rookie out of Florida A&M. While he has quite a mountain to climb, his large frame (6-3, 213) makes him a big target that can make downfield blocks. Coupled with the fact that he doesn't mind playing on special teams, he could be a heavy favorite to make that final roster spot. However, if he impresses with his receiving ability as well, the Jaguars might have a nice utility player for the next few years.
@alfiebcc @ecstoner And don't sleep on Kevin Elliott. Big and fast
