The dominant story for the Jacksonvile Jaguars today is that the Shad Khan is pushing to play in London over the next few years. This shouldn't come as a surprise to Jaguars fans. In his first month as the owner of the Jaguars, Khan stated that he wanted to make the Jaguars into a regional and global brand by giving the Jaguars international exposure. Allowing the Jaguars to play in London is just another step towards that, much like the Jaguars Caravans that went around the surrounding counties in southeastern Georgia and North-Central Florida to drum up support for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
However, what makes many in Jacksonville uneasy is the looming specter of relocation. Some believe that playing in London could be the first step in a series of events that leads to the Jaguars moving to Los Angeles or London. While I think the phobia of losing the Jaguars to another city is a bit too paranoid, it is not entirely unfounded. It still comes down to to Jacksonville's ability to fill up the seats at the stadium and it already looks like that will not be a problem this year.
