- As the Jaguars open up with their first full practice this afternoon, head coach Mike Mularkey addressed the media this morning. There are a few Jaguars players who should be eased into practice coming off injuries from last season. Namely, Terrance Knighton, John Chick, Zach Miller, Rashean Mathis, and Clint Session come to mind.
- The last name there is one to watch. Clint Session sustained a blow to the head last year and was shut down with concussion-like symptoms. Seven months later, those symptoms are still there for Session. According to John Oehser, who is covering the Jaguars training camp for jaguars.com, coach Mularkey spoke about Session's lingering concussion injury. Mularkey was quoted saying "It's definitely a concern".
- This is not good news for Session going into camp. Some have said he could be on the bubble as a training camp cut, due to these concussion issues, and the fact that Session is somewhat of a limited player on the Jaguars defense. Last year, he routinely came out on 3rd down schemes for the defense. For a player who just signed a big contract with the team, you want to get the most out of that dollar. One has to wonder if he eventually gets the ax, because the team is high on back up LB Russell Allen as a fill-in.
