- The Jacksonville Jaguars had three of the six players were taken off of the PUP list by passing their physicals: Terrance Knighton, Zach Miller, and Uche Nwaneri. Knighton was seen hitting the practice dummies early with some serious force.
- The Jaguars WRs had another tough practice today, struggling to get separation and struggling to haul in passes. Laurent Robinson flashed speed, but he has struggled to haul in the ball on a few occasions. The most troubled player out there today was Mike Thomas. He was yelled at by Special Teams coach John Bonamego for not running hard enough on returns and then he had multiple drops in the 11-on-11 drills. This is not a good sign for Thomas' future as a Jaguar.
- The most dominant story of the day was Blaine Gabbert only completing one pass in 12 dropbacks . Many people in the national media have used this stat to attack Gabbert, but it is really quite overblown. Gabbert only threw about 5 times (He was ordered to scramble during the other 7 times) and even then, two or three of those throws were blatant drops. As referenced earlier, the Jaguars WRs had trouble with getting separation from the defensive backs. This shouldn't surprise anyone, the Jaguars routinely shut down many opposing offenses in 2011. The offensive line was often blown up by the Rushmen forcing Gabbert to scramble (those plays likely would've been sacks) and the defensive backs didn't make life easy for the wideouts. In short, don't see this as a failure for the offense, see this as a sign that this defense will be force to be reckoned with. The offense will set itself right in due time.Tags: Blaine Gabbert, Football, Jacksonville, Jacksonville Jaguars, Jaguars, Laurent Robinson, Mike Thomas, NFL, Terrance Knighton, Uche Nwaneri, Zach Miller
