Blaine Gabbert led TD drive, but ultimately his preseason opener was step back. Fear of contact remained evident. I think he can get worse.

It apparently seems that the Jacksonville Jaguars are in for rough days ahead according to Rotowold's Evan Silva After reviewing the game tape of the Jaguars' preseason oppener against the New York Giants, he came away with the impression that Blaine Gabbert has taken a step back, citing his unwillingness to take a hit to as a reason to believe that Gabbert could actually be worse this season.
However, I have a reason to believe that he is significantly more comfortable in the pocket than last year.He led a touchdown drive against the likes of Justin Tuck and Jason Pierre-Paul and converted on multiple third and longs duriing that drive. Even with Justin Tuck's hand in his face, he kept his eyes downfield. While it is obvious that he still needs work, such as when he held onto the ball too long, resulting in a strip-sack. There was nothing in that game that suggests regression from Gabbert.
